오르니톨레스테스
오르니톨레스테스(Ornitholestes← "새 도둑")는 서부 로라시아의(나중에 북아메리카가 되었음) 약 154,000,000년 전 쥐라기 말기의 조그마한 수각류 공룡이다.[1]
개요

오르니톨레스테스는 두 발로 걷는 육식동물이었다.[2] 머리는 다른 대부분의 포식 공룡들의 것보다 비율적으로 더 작은 편이었으나 두개골은 무겁게 구성되었고 코 부분은 짧고 턱은 튼튼하고 낮은 편이었다.[3] 안와는 매우 큰데, 두개골 길이의 25%를 넘는 것으로 측정되었다.[4] 머리 위에는 뿔이 있는데 이 뿔은 벼슬, 즉 장식에 지나치지 않았다
발견

오르니톨레스테스는 1900년대에 최초로 발견된 수각아목 공룡이었다.[5]
